Introducing Rave - A - Roo & A Giveaway

Rave-A-Roo

Kids. Play. Rave. Repeat

Indoor mayhem for outdoor voices

I have recently been invited to attend the launch day for Rave - A - Roo a new clubbing experience for the whole family. I'm really excited to go clubbing with Darcy and show her how Mummy gets down on the dance floor. Even T has asked to come along, I think he wants to practice his embarrassing Dad moves. Don't worry I shall be blogging about it all.

Imagine an indoor festival vibe with a focus on families partying together and getting their rave on….and you have Rave-A-Roo; a new clubbing mash-up of festival fun for all the family.

At Rave-A-Roo kids can be themselves, dance, let loose, create, watch or chill.

Launching at London’s most iconic club, Ministry of Sound, in February half term, Rave-A-Roo is an entirely new concept. From toddlers to grandparents, everyone is invited to join in the madcap fun.

It’s the ultimate party with top DJs, the Disco Ball Games, a Big Fish Little Fish takeover, LIVE stage performances, hosts Tom and Adam (from Babyhead and Lost & Found), PlayGlow toys, confetti mayhem, neon craft, Glow Chill Room, and a UV tattoo station.

At Rave-a-Roo there is the chance for mini-clubbers and their adults to take on the dance floor with resident artists Go!Go!Go! as seen on Nick Jr. They’ll be debuting their Electro Set and revealing their brand new look.

For time out from the dance floor and the little ones who can’t party quite as hard, they can take it easy in the Glow Chill Room, with an area for babies, whilst parents watch their little faces light up.

With a fully licensed bar (and tea, coffee and snacks), a convenient onsite buggy park, baby changing, professional security, carefully monitored sound levels and beautifully lit rooms, Rave-A-Roo offers a unique and safe environment for families.

Further dates in iconic venues around the UK, including more dates in London, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Brighton and Cardiff to be announced

Rave-A-Roo will launch at London’s Ministry of Sound on Friday 19th February 2016. Sessions are 1pm to 3pm and 4pm to 6pm.

Tickets are priced £7.50 (earlybird), £10.00 (advanced) and £12.50 (on the door). Babes in arms go free. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.rave-a-roo.com

Travel | 24 Hours In Dublin

Well technically it was slightly longer than 24 hours. A couple of weeks ago I headed to Dublin with a few friends after bagging £4 return plane tickets in the Ryanair Black Friday sale.

We stayed at the Beresford Hotel, which was walkable distance to Temple Bar and other local attractions without the hustle and bustle.

After dropping off our bags, we set off in search for our first pint of Guinness of the weekend and a bite to eat. We ended up at The Hairy Lemon, it's true what the say Guinness taste much better in Ireland. We ordered a few platters to share between us. The Nachos and Sea Food platters were amazing and we all fell in love with the Soda Bread so much so we had to order more. I went for a traditional Dublin Coddle which was perfect for the cold weather.

Saturday morning we walked through Temple Bar on the hunt for a hearty breakfast. We found ourselves at The Woollen Mills. One of the best breakfast I've had in a long time, we shared a peanut butter and jam french toast which was also lovely

We had a wander through Dublin Castle and their gardens on the way to The Guinness Storehouse. The views on The Gravity Bar are breathe taking, unfortunately it was really grey that day so was unable to take pictures to give it justice. I particularity liked the advertising section, looking through Guinness past advertising.

I heard great things about Queen of Tarts, so we made a beeline for cake and Irish coffee. I recommend you try the Apple crumble it was lush.

There is so much more to do in Dublin than we managed in the 24hrs we were there. A few more  things I would like to do on my next visit are;
  • The National Museum of Ireland
  • Cow's Lane Market
  • Phoenix  Park

The Birthday girl Martyna

Saturday evening we made our way to My Meat Wagon for meat, meat and more meat. Their menu is very simple, there are no starters. To be honest you need as much room as possible for the main event. I opted for the Cow on the Board, the meat was so tender and the baked beans were to die for.

We then made our way across the road to The Generator Hostel for a few drinks. When I think of a hostel I think of somewhere dark and dirty. This was the opposite, it was huge, modern with a great vibe. If you're looking for somewhere trendy, with great drink deals I would totally recommend it.

We were up at the crack on dawn on Sunday to catch our flight back to the UK. I had a great time in Dublin and can't wait to visit again when it's much warmer

Have you been to Dublin before? where do you recommend visiting?

How To Create A Romantic Bedroom For Valentine’s Day

how to createa romantic bedroom for valentines day

Even though I'm a single pringle this year, it doesn't mean I cannot get in the mood for Valentines day. Today I thought I would share a few ideas on how to create a romantic bedroom for Valentines day. Here are a few of my favourites I found whilst looking online

Domestic Fashionista

You could make a wreath out of colored paper and use it on the mantel

The Bed
You can't feel comfortable and romantic with a rock hard bed, we all know the story of the princess and the pea. It is important to invest in a good mattress. Looking online I didn't realise they were so many types of mattresses online from firm to soft, to quilted to mattresses toppers. We all love fresh bed linen, how cute are these pillow cases from Old English Company.

Lighting
Bob Marley once sang "I want to give you some good, good loving. Turn your lights down low" Forget about your main light and put your lamp on instead for a subtle glow. I'm loving these copper garland lights from I want one of those.

Scent
Use fragrant oils in your bedroom. Scents have been used for centuries as a aphrodisiac. My favourite scents are vanilla, rose and patchouli. If using candles, please be careful of the surface that you place them on, and also make sure that you blow them out fully before falling asleep

So these are a few  ideas to create aromatic bedroom for Valentine's day. How do you get your room in the mood?

#LovingMyNaturalBeauty Campaign With Hairfinity And A Giveaway!!

You know what it's like in the New Year, everyone is making resolutions to "improve" themselves or change things they don't like about themselves. This year I decided not to make any as I feel it puts too much pressure on myself and I get all deflated. Instead I've made 10 achievable goals which I will be sharing with you soon.

So it was prefect timing when the guys are Hairfinity invited me to take part in their #LovingMyNaturalBeauty Campaign. It’s important to feel proud and celebrate the parts of your body that make you feel beautiful. Too often we focus on the negatives, ignore the haters and love yourself, no matter what, because you’re beautiful.

I chose my natural hair because I love the creative and unique styles I can achieve with it

Here are some quotes from some of women taking part in the campaign

Simone from Married To A Geek
Liz from What Lizzy Loves
Ceri, Life With Bumps

Now the picture of me is as natural as I can ever be. No weave, no make up, no silly crossed leg pose just me being me. However, it also made me look at the condition of my hair. If I'm honest even though I embrace my natural hair, I don't actually look after it as well as I should. So I decided to do the big chop and start again with a new regime and here is the final result.

I feel much better now I've got rid of all the damaged hair and promise myself I will really look after it. I've been using some Hairfinity products for the last 2 weeks and I must say I love them, especially the intense conditioner it smells lush.

Hairfinty have been lovely enough to give me some products to giveaway to one of my lucky readers. To enter, simply complete one or more of the entries on the Rafflecopter below. Good luck!

So tell me what is your favourite natural feature and why
