Stick Man | A Must See Family Christmas Show

Recently I won tickets to see Stick Man at The Leicester Square theatre, London. Darcy is a massive fan of the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Who we were lucky to meet at the launch of the new Chessington World of Adventure Gruffalo ride, which you can read all about it here.

The book has also been adapted into a animated film that is voiced by an all star cast including Martin Freeman as Stick Man, Hugh Bonneville as Father Christmas and Jennifer Saunders as The Narrator to name a few.

The three actors from The Scamp Theatre who were full of energy from the start, seamlessly going from one character to another character. I particularly loved the use of props and the use of instruments that went alongside the main show. It really brought the whole book to life.

There were lots of interaction to keep young audiences engaged without getting too hyper, foot tapping catchy songs and jokes to keep older kids and adults entertained too.

There's an appearance from the man himself, Father Christmas with the addition of snow to help get everyone into the festive spirit

I'm going to be honest Darcy had one of her famous meltdowns just before the show started, but once the lights and music came on she was engrossed from start to finish.

The show is 50 minutes long which is the perfect length and if you are going with little ones, make sure you pick up a booster seat, so they do not miss out on any of the action.

Darcy's dad came with us and he's a hard man to please and he said that the show surpassed his expectations. We would definitely go and see it again. I smiled and laughed throughout the show.

Stick Man is playing over the Christmas season at London's Leicester Square Theatre until 7th January 2018. You can buy tickets here
