Review | Pink Clove*

When I first started blogging was lucky enough to attend their lunch dinner as a plus one of the amazing award winning Debz from Wannabe Princess. I fell in love with their clothing, do you remember my review of their black and white body con dress I wore whilst pregnant with Darcy?

If you haven't heard of Pink Clove they a online plus size store catering from size 16 to 32.

A few weeks ago Pink Clove contacted me asking if I would like to reviewing some of their clothing

I picked their duster coat, as it's not the usual style I go for. Coats are a issue for me due to being tall, the sleeves are normally too short or it just doesn't fit right on me. However this coat fits like a dream, It can also be dressed up or down. I chose to dress it down with a black polo neck, brown suedette skirt and my favourite ankle boots.

Every time I wear this dress I get people coming up asking me where it's from. I love the autumnal colours. It is cut really well that it hugs me in all the right places.. It's lightweight jersey material but it's perfect for laying up.

I fell in love with this dress, especially the strap detail. I recently wore it out for a girls night out with those black ankle boots again! It's currently on sale for £9!! so you best snap it up.

Have you shopped at Pink Clove before? What are your favourite items?

Review | Twig + Dot Christmas Candles*

You might not know that I have a thing about candles. It is amazing how something so simple can make a difference to a room and also to your mood. I don't know if it's me but I think the best candle scents come out around the autumn/ winter period.
Twig + Dot invited me to take part in their 12 bloggers of Christmas campaign, which I have been designated Day 12. Do have a look and see what the other bloggers thought of their candles for the previous days.

All Twig + Dot candles are made from a blend of soy and mineral wax and are hand poured in the UK.

Candles come in two sizes options,  a 45g mini votive which retails at £3 and burns for approximately 5 - 8 hours. Normally votive size candles are usually wrapped in plastic, so it was a nice touch that it came in simple glass jar, perfect for a last minute stocking filler. The large 230g jar which costs £16 and burns for approximately 30 - 40 hours and comes with a stylish silver lid and can be placed in any room setting.

They were lovely enough to send me two of their new Christmas range candles. The first
Christmas Day  is such a beautiful scent, of cinnamon and vanilla and definitely reminds me of Christmas day. the scent was nice and subtle which lasted even after the candle was blown out.

Sleigh Ride reminded me of the outdoors, green and fresh and was a nice clean scent. Both candles had a lovely natural scent and there were no chemical after scent which some other brands have.

What I love about Twig + Dot is not only the simple but chic packaging which would fit into any type of decor but also the quality of their brand and the attention to detail. The prices are very reasonable when you consider the quality

All jars are presented in gift box and they offer free delivery on any order over £45

Remember to never leave a candle burning unattended!!

Have you tried a candle from Twig + Dot? What is your favourite Christmas scent?

Review | Ben and Holly's Christmas at North Pole From Penwizard*

As you all must know by now, I love anything and everything personalised.

I was looking for a book for Darcy's Christmas Eve Box when Penwizard got in touch with me asking if I would like to review their latest Ben and Holly personalised book, Christmas at the North Pole. Ben and Holly are one of Darcy's favourite TV shows at the moment, she especially loves Gaston and the Gnome.

Ordering from Penwizard was so simply, You are given the option of gender of the child, and the appearance of your child. Yes I know my illustration doesn't look like Darcy but close enough. You also get the opportunity to write a personal message inside the book.

Darcy and I really enjoyed reading the book, she was so excited when she saw who was on the cover. We spent the duration of the book talking about the characters and who was her favourite.

The book retails at £14.99 for a softback and £19.99  for the hard back version. Penwizard have been kind enough to offer my lovely readers a discount code, just use the code PENWIZARD3 for £3 off your purchase which is available till the 15th of December

Ben and Holly, Christmas at the North Pole would definitely make the perfect Christmas present and also a lasting start of a child's book collection. I will be including this book in Darcy's Christmas Eve box.

What was your favourite Christmas book as a child?

A weekend in Birmingham with Travelodge*

A couple of weeks ago, I headed up to Birmingham to take part in the Travelodge, #bloggerlodge campaign.

Due to a very delayed train, i arrived in Birmingham after 10 pm. Travelodge Central Bull Ring was easy to find, around 5 minutes walk from the station. Being a Friday night, the reception was very busy but the staff were friendly and dealt with the queue swiftly.

Saturday morning, I headed downstairs for breakfast. The selection was a feast of hot and cold options. As much as i would have enjoyed cereal, fruit and yoghurt, a full traditional English breakfast was on the cards.

First stop was The Cosy Club where I caught up with my friend Natalie over a massive hot chocolate and some cake. Cosy club has a great 60's style decor inside and a lovely atmosphere. W
hen I return to Birmingham I'm definitely making my way back to sample goodies from their menu.

We ventured to the Bull Ring to do a bit of Christmas shopping, with a pit stop at Selfridges to make the most of all the samples, as you do!

For dinner we went to Gas Street Social, which is based in The Mailbox. When we arrived the place was packed but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. I loved the atmosphere and the food was really tasty. I sampled some of the best dishes I've ever eaten and highly recommend the Mushroom Gnocchi and Scotch Eggs.

The German Market looked beautiful in the nighttime. I got into the Christmas spirit with some mulled wine and treated myself to some yummy handmade marshmallows. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best so I didn't get to spend much time looking around. However there are plenty of things to do and see including the skating rink and the big wheel.

I had a lovely stay at The Travelodge Bullring, my room was clean and modern, the bed comfy, staff friendly and the location was perfect for shopping and taking in the sights. I will be definitely be visiting a Travelodge again when travelling around the country.

Have you been to Birmingham before?

Review | The Breath Company Toothpaste and Oral Rinse

The Christmas period can play havoc with your breathe. With all that excess food and drinks and kissing under the mistletoe. Bad breath can not only be embarrassing but it can also be a sign of something more serious like gum disease. So it was prefect timing when the guys from The Breath Company asked if they could send me over some items to review

So who are The Breath Company?

The Breathe Co was created by Dr Harold Katz, after his daughter was bullied at school over her bad breath. He decided to take a new approach to cleaner teeth and fresher breath by using the natural power of oxygen to attack hostile germs that live inside the mouth.

Fresh Breath Toothpaste This toothpaste is clear in appearance and contains no artificial flavouring or colouring and the packaging states that it "helps fight against bad breath, dry mouth and maintains healthy gums". Like any toothpaste it recommends brushing at least twice daily.

The first thing you will notice is that the toothpaste has no taste and does not foam up at all which I was not used to. I did notice that my teeth felt smooth and even though I didn't have that after brush minty taste that the everyday brands offer, I did feel that my breath was fresh.

The Breath Co Fresh Breath Oral Rinse This oral rinse uses the natural oxygenating power of OXYD-8 to destroy the bacteria that cause bad breath odour including Morning Breath and eliminates sour, bitter and metallic tastes in your mouth.

It contains no alcohol  no artificial flavours or colours., which is said can act as a drying agent.

An additional point that The Breath Co production offer is that both the mouthwash and the toothpaste are suitable for vegetarian, vegans, are kosher and gluten-free and approved for diabetics.

I personally felt that the products did produce a normal breath, and no one was pulling away from me when I was talking up close and personal!

The only negative thing I can say about this oral rinse was it didn't leave me with that usual minty after taste, and some people may find that preferable. However, they do sell a Icy mint version which I would chose next time just too reassure me!.

Let's not pretend, The Breath Co are expensive but offer very good products which deserve their price tags and anything that can provide fresh breath confidence is worth the money.

You can buy The Breath Co products from Boots, Superdrug, Amazon and a few selective Pharmacies.

New blog design & Giveaway!!

Have you noticed something different about my blog? Yes I've given it a makeover!!

I've been blogging for over 2 years and the blog design has been bugging me as it doesn't really reflect my personality. So I knew straight away who to go to, my girl Kaelah over at This Charming Life of Kaelah Bee

I just told her the basic idea of what I was after. I've been a reader of her blog for years, and it is clear that she has an understanding of what draws peoples eyes, it's so cosy you cannot help but to get lost in her world. She is definitely worth checking out.

I just told her the basic idea of what I wanted, we swapped a few ideas and the rest is history. She really got the look I was after to the very last tiny details. I'm totally in love with my new design

To celebrate my new blog design I decided to do a little giveaway. At the moment I am loving adult colouring books as they really relax me and makes me focus on other things.

I'm giving away 3 colouring books and some pencils so you can see how restful coloring in can be, you never know you may end up framing your completed artwork

To enter, simply complete one or more of the entries on the Rafflecopter below. Good luck!

So what do you think about my new blog design?

Bedroom makeover with Yorkshire Linen*

If you remember a few weeks ago I played interior designer and created a mood board for my mum's bedroom .Today i'm talking finishing touches with Yorkshire Linen, who messaged me asking if I would like £75 to spend in their store. I knew straight away I wanted to get a duvet cover, bed sheets and a few cushions.

So who are Yorkshire Linen? Yorkshire Linen is a family run business which stock a wide range of home furnishings for every room in the house. Including duvet covers, curtains, towels and home essentials.

As you can see from the before picture, the room is most definitely a work in progress. The only thing staying in the room will be the bed and pine furniture.

Balmoral Cream Duvet || Fitted Sheet || Sicily Natural Cushion

There's nothing better than bedding that looks crisp and fresh, I love the embroidery detail to the duvet cover and the edging gives it a real touch of luxury I teamed up a white fitted sheet and a pair cushions which had a shimmer to it. I've picked light colours to help give the room a bright and relaxed feel.

I cannot believe all these items came up to less than £75, which is a complete bargain! What I love about Yorkshire Linen was their large selection of King Size duvet covers and sheets which normally you only get a few to pick from in the shops. They even stock Super King Size!

Yorkshire Linen has also recently launched a Christmas shop which include Christmas duvet covers, stockings, table runners, oven gloves, aprons and tea towels.

You can keep update with Yorkshire Linen via the Facebook and Twitter page

Elf The Musical Theatre Review | Dominion Theatre

Elf is one of my favourite Christmas films of all time, I never get tired of watching it. During the summer I found out Elf The Musical was coming to London. I just knew I had to go and see the production!. So imagine my excitement when I received an email from Boxoffice.co.uk inviting me to come down and see the show.

Unless you have been living under a rock and have never heard of Elf. Elf is based on the much loved 2003 film staring Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf. As a young orphan he crawls into Santa's sack of gifts and is taken back to the North Pole without Santa knowing, after discovering he is in fact not an elf at all, he sets off from the North Pole to New York City to find his human dad. I won't spoil the rest of the plot for you...but it is fun

I know there has been a lot of talk about the price of tickets to see the show setting a new record for a top West End price of £240 a ticket. Which in my opinion iis rather eye watering for primarily a family orientated show and was reflective by the amount of empty seats in the theatre stalls.

I'm not going to lie I didn't have a clue who Ben Forster was before the show, however, he was great as Buddy. He had the right amount of energy to play Buddy and comical timing was on point, his vocals were also amazing. You couldn't help but to warm to him

Joe McGann was great as Buddy's real life father, he had great chemistry with Ben and it was breathtaking seeing him in a musical..who knew he could sing.

I wasn't overly impressed with Kimbely Walsh as Jovie. Don't get me wrong the girl can sing but can she act....? hmmm

There were lots of musical numbers including a song called Sparklejollytwinklejingley. Try saying that after a few glasses of mulled wine.

The choreography was good, there was a lot of high kicking, tap dancing and spinning. I especially loved how the elves "walked" which was rather clever and funny.

The show was packed with amazing visual effects. You can really see where the money has been spent.

Santa and his sleigh near the end was fantastic, Santa's sleigh flies across the audience and it starts to snow inside the theatre.

Elf will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit, so grab your tacky Christmas jumper some tinsel and see the show, it is a once in a lifetime experience and if you have a look around there are deals to be had to find those cheaper family tickets

Elf The Musical runs until 2 January at the Dominion Theatre and is most definitely worth a watch. Tickets are avaliable online or via The Box Office on 0845 200 7982

Review | Specspost*

When I was 26 I found out I had to wear glasses, only for watching TV or on the computer but still it was a big deal for me. I remember just picking the first pair I saw, hating them and never wore them again.

Roll on 7 years later of me squinting at the TV, not being able to read subtitles at the cinema and learning to drive. I handed defeat and got my eyes tested. It actually wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Then Specspost got in touch with me asking if I would like to review some of their glasses perfect timing or what?!

Specspost are a online prescription eyeglasses retailer who sell sunglasses, fashion glasses, frames or prescription. You get to choose up to 4 pairs of glasses frames of your choosing to trial and they will deliver them to your doorstep, better still they fit through the letterbox so you don't even need to go and collect them.

So which frames did I choose to try?

First up are these Little Mix Style frames, they are rather cute don’t you think. I love the shape of the frame and the shade of the tortoiseshell.

The next pair of frames shows why doing a home trial is so important. These Dani frames are far too small for my face.

Lastly are Purday Tortoiseshell Cat Eyes frames. They are really out of my comfort zone as they are kind of big. However I really like the shape of the frames and how they make my cheekbones pop.

After deciding which glasses you like the most you send them back in the original packaging along with your prescription. you also have the option to have your lens thinned or tinted for an extra cost.

All glasses come in a free hard coat, glasses case, cleaning cloth and a 12 months manufacturers guarantee (on both frames and lenses).

I’m not going to lie I was a little hesitant about ordering eyeglasses online but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of products, the affordability and level of customer service.

Have you heard of Specspost? Which ones do you think suit me? Help me make my decide by tweeting me @bumpandbeyond_

Review | Home Bargains Flowers*

A few weeks ago Home Bargain Flowers contacted me and offered to let me pick out a bouquet of flowers from their site to review, which was great because I love flowers. I have been shopping at Home Bargains for years and didn’t have a clue they're also had a flower delivery service.

I received the Flourish bouquet, which contained 15 stems of carnations, mixed chrysanthemums, sweet gypsophila and lily la orange lilies

The bouquet came in a long rectangular box. The packaging is extremely secure. So there are minimal issues with receiving damaged flowers. The box comes with flower food and none of the flowers were dead upon arrival. In fact the were all really healthy looking.

It came wrapped in lovely paper, it was very safely packaged. so you don't need to worry about them getting damaged or ruined when it is being delivered..
The bouquet is beautiful, the flowers looked and smelt great they held up well in the packing.

The website makes ordering easy, there are many bouquets to pick from. You also have the opportunity to add items such as a vase, bear, balloons and a birthday cake to personalise your order.

Home Bargains Flowers offer the best value flowers from £9.99 which included postage costs. I have had these flowers for over two weeks now and they are still going strong.

I’m so glad i’ve found out that Home Bargain do bouquets as they are much cheaper than other retailers and equally as beautiful. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

*I received this bouquet for the purpose of this review. All thoughts and opinions my own.

Out & About | Butterfly World Project

Darcy currently has a big fascination with butterflies. So when I saw a Groupon deal for only £5.50 which included an hot drink, I jumped at the opportunity to take her to The Butterfly World Project.

Straight away Darcy was excited to see The Hunger Caterpillar which is one of her favorite books. She spent ages telling her brother the names of the fruit and vegetables.

We made our way to the Tropical Butterfly House which was fantastic, it had butterflies in varying sizes and colours. We had great fun playing hide and seek with the butterflies, it was lovely seeing them flying around.

The other main attraction was the Leaf Cutter ants as they climbed along a 30 foot rope with their food. It was really interesting to see.

Unfortunately it started to rain before we got to The Bee Hut so we made our way back to The Insect Study Centre for some shelter .There were Cockroaches, Snails, Locust alongside other insects and they even had cocoons hatching. They also had someone doing face painting.

The only downside was that it is a little on the small size, we spent a total of an hour and a half there. .

The Butterfly World Project is the perfect place for kids to burn off energy and enjoy nature. We will be definitely be revisiting in the summer to make the most of the gardens and have a picnic.

Have you been to The Butterfly World Project before? Where is your favourite place to visit?
