Happy First Birthday Darcy!

A rather belated post today! On Thursday 8th January 2015, Darcy turned one. I still cannot believe she is one! This past year with Darcy has truly been a dream come true. I love seeing her smile and dance around to music. She is always getting into some sort of mischief and is so determined in everything she does.

We kept things simple this year and decided not to have a party as she is still so young. I decorated our dining room with a pink and silver theme and got her a Mr Tumble cake as she adores him.

The morning was spent opening presents, Darcy was spoiled with lots of gifts from family and friends. We are so blessed to have such supportive, loving people around us.

In the afternoon we took Darcy to Zebra to get foot print taken. Which turned out to be really fun. T designed a frame, whilst my mum and I kept to painting a plate.

I’m grateful that T and I are at the stage now where we can do things as a family, without any sort of tension. Darcy is such an Daddy’s girl so it is important to me that they maintain that bond.

The next day T and I took Darcy to Paradise Wildlife Park. Darcy loved running around looking at all the animals. She was so observant of the animals and people around her, but we could tell she was having a fun time. Her favourite were the meerkats. However Darcy was overwhelmed by the monkeys and their screeching.

I cannot wait to see what she gets up to the next 12 months

Wish List Wednesday | Zara Home

Wish List Wednesday | Zara Home

Oh lord have mercy on my poor skint soul! In a few months time I will be moving so I have obviously been looking for some new homeware items. I’ve been browsing my beloved Pinterest for inspiration then I came across a board of Zara homeware. I forgot that they did homeware so I thought I’d have a little nosey on their website.

I wasn’t to know I would be lusting over almost every item on the site. I’m a sucker for all things gold, floral and luxurious as you can see from this weeks wish list.

I can’t wait to move so I can play interior designer. I better start saving up my pennies now, so I can make a cheeky purchase or two.

What do you think of this weeks wish list? Where is your favourite place to shop for homeware?

The Slimming World Files | Week one and two

Heya everyone,

I finally bit the bullet and joined Slimming World on 8th January. I’ve wanted to lose some weight for a while now but on new years day I woke up and the motivation was there. I was kinda tight and waited till I found a free voucher before I joined.

I’m looking to lose a few stones, nothing major I know I will never be a size 8. I just want to be healthy and feel more comfortable in my skin again.

The reason why I’m doing these Slimming World Files is mainly for me. I want to keep a record of my weight loss and what I am eating. I feel this will keep me motivated. I also would love to share thoughts and ideas with anyone else going through a weight loss journey.

On my first week I lost 7.5 lbs and my second 3.5 lb, that’s a total of 11 lbs in 2 weeks. I have to admit I’m not a big fan of the meetings, I find them rather long winded however they are great for support and motivation. So far I’m really enjoying it, it doesn’t feel like a diet at all. The main thing i’ve noticed is planning is key. I do a weekly meal plans including snacks. This way I know I won't be dashing to the corner shop for treats because I have nothing in the house to eat.

I thought I’d share with you some of the things I have been eating. I hope it helps and inspires some of you who are following Slimming World to see what someone else eats. I follow the extra easy plan and I aim to have 10 syns a day.

Do you have a sweet tooth like me? What are your favourite low syn snacks, I would love to hear them

Happy New Year and 2015 Resolutions

Heya everyone and a Happy New Year. Last year went so fast and I have to admit I didn’t keep to any of my resolutions for 2014 which you can look back here.

I spent the first part of the year in a my own little bubble, happy with my new little family and the other part of the year nursing a broken heart. The events of 2014 have given me the drive and motivation to do better this year.

Learn to drive: I’m truly sick and tired of struggling with my pram on the bus. It’s time to get behind the wheel. I've been surprisingly pro active and booked my theory test for a few weeks. Won’t tell you when in case I fail. Driving will give me so much freedom cannot wait.

Get fitter, healthier, lose weight:  So many times last year I uttered those famous words “ diet starts on Monday”. Monday came, Monday went diet didn't start. Darcy is walking running everywhere and I want to be able to keep up with her. I also don’t feel as comfortable in my skin as I used to, So I'm planning on joining Slimming World to help get to the weight I was most comfortable at.

Be more organised: I’ll put my hands up and admit that I am the most unorganised person ever. I always just go with the flow. Being a parent and disorganisation does not work out at all. I never know if I'm coming or going. Darcy has no structure no nap time no bed time aka she basically does what she want, when she wants. This year I’m going to make sure Darcy has a timetable and keep to it, I’m also going to start using the Filofax my sister got me last year.

Career:  My plan to go back to work haven’t worked due, due to them not accepting my flexible working application form and me not having the funds to go back full time. But every cloud has a silver lining, as I have decided it’s time for a career change so in September I shall be returning to education to do an Access course.

Look after my blog: I don’t need to state the obvious that my blog has gone down hill. After breaking up with T I lost my mojo. I don’t want to neglect my little space of the internet again. I’m also going to make a effort and network more in the blogging community. I’ve made some great friends and want to start going to more event.

So those are my resolutions for 2015, Did you make any resolutions for 2015??
