Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is on Sunday 6th March and is always celebrated in my family. I believe it's important to use the day to remind your mother that she is appreciated, especially as sometimes it's easy to forget to say it. As children, my sister and i would make my mum cards, bake a cake and wake her up at an ungodly hour to present her with breakfast in bed. Mother's Day was and still is, a opportunity to shower her with gifts whilst she put her feet up for the day.

Picking gifts for my mum is usually hard. My mum is in her 50's and has surely received every gift imaginable, however with the wide range of online stores/boutiques available, i have made my laptop my best friend and browsed for great finds. I thought I'd share them with you but don't worry, there's no spoilers as I've forbidden my mum from visiting my blog until Sunday.

Lush Love You Mum Gift Box £10.95

As you are all aware by now, i am a total Lush junkie, so i had to feature them in my mum's gift haul. My mum deserves pampering and whilst my budget doesn't quite extend to a luxurious spa day, this is the next best thing. It contains a Rose Bombshell bath bomb and French Kiss bubble bar.

Chroma Stationary Personalised Notebook* £12.00

I love stationery and i love personalised gifts, so when Chroma Stationery asked me to review one of their notebooks, I said yes immediately. I kept it simple and had my Mum's initials embossed on. Not only is it especially cute but  practical as I know it will be used often.

Chroma Stationery offer two notebook sizes to pick from, A5 and A4, with plenty of colours to select. You can have almost anything printed on them. If you need some inspiration for a design, check out their Instagram and Twitter page.

They also sell personalised pens, pencils and pencil cases.

To celebrate Mother's Day, Chroma Stationary are offering a special Mother's Day 15% discount with the code MTHRDY1 which is valid until the 5th March.

Charbonnel et Walker Pink Marc De Champagne Truffles £9.99

Roses? Milk Tray? Not for mummy this year, check out these luxurious truffles. Not only is the packaging beautiful, these chocolates are absolutely divine. The kind of chocolate where you sit and savour it slowly.

Joules Harmony Scarf £29.99

Joules is becoming one of my favourite shops at the moment. I love their quirky takes on classic British designs and they offer many gifting options. An over-sized scarf makes the perfect present as it's multi-functional. Shawl, sarong and scarf of course, it's a great gift to be used throughout the year and will be perfect for her travels.

This little haul is what I got my amazing, dedicated, loving mum for Mother's Day this year. She has one more present awaiting her but I won't mention it just in case she has cracked and read the post.

What have you got your mum this year? Do you have any previous presents/cards that you especially hold dear?

The Slimming World Diary | The Return

If  you have been reading my blog for a while now you would know that I previously lost 3 stones doing Slimming World. Then I lost my way and found it hard to get back on track. I had holidays, Birthdays and of course the big ole food fest which is Christmas!. I very lucky to have only put on a stone in that time.

Last week I felt mentally and physically ready to get back on plan. This time I won't be attending group I will be doing it from home. I've joined my local gym which surprisingly I have been enjoying and started a Slimming World Instagram account to keep track of what I have been eating and also there are some amazing inspiring accounts to follow.

Don't want to jinx myself but I found the first week easy. I plan my meals in advance, I tend to have Syn free meals and leave my Syns for my treats.I can't get enough of the new Jam Roly Poly & Custard Hifi bars which are 2 bars as a Healthy Extra B or 3 Syns each. I'm lucky I have friends who get them for me when they attend group. I love the freedom of Slimming World everything is allowed as long as it is within the 15 daily Syns allowance.

So the bit you've been waiting for, my weight loss of the week ...

Total Weight Loss 6lbs

So that was my first week back at Slimming World. Are you following SW? what is your favourite meal as I'm after some more meal inspirations.

Half Term Fashion with Joules

Half term is round the corner. The only thing is I never know what the weather is going to be like, so it makes it hard to make plans as you never know what the weather is going to turn out. So Darcy always needs a selection of clothes which covers ever weather situation.

Thank god for Joules! I've been a fan of their clothing for a while now. I thought I'd share with you my half term fashion essentials.

Neon Candy Spot \\ Soft Blue Shark

The Coat
We all need a waterproof coat in case it rains. Practical doesn't have to mean boring. Pick a coat with a pattern or bold block colours.

Multi Shark \\ Lime Peony

The Footwear
I don't know about your child, but my Darcy seems to be a magnet for puddles. If there's a puddle you're guaranteed to find her in it. Wellies are perfect for in between weather.

Messy Hair T Shirt  \\ Rocket Man T Shirt
The T Shirt
All the running about can be hot work, a T shirt is ideal for all that. I like cute and unique T shirts. How adorable is this rocket man one. I also love them as they can be layered up, which brings me on to.....

Funnel Neck Jumper \\ Crew Neck Jumper

The Jumper
When you don't know if it's going to be hot or cold a jumper is a must. I love Joules jumpers as they such good quality, you can wash them a million times and the material is still in good condition.

So those were my half term fashion essentials, what are yours?

Product Of The Year Awards 2016 & a giveaway

Last Autumn I was invited to be a member of the judging team for Product Of The Year. I had a great time trying out all the products shortlisted so was excited to see who the winners were.

The awards were held on Thursday 21st January at the Hilton Park Hotel. I was lucky enough to be able to bring my mum along as my plus one for the night.

I had never been to an Award Night before, so all this was very new to me. After mingling over a couple of glasses of wine in the reception area. We made our way into for dinner. Which may I had was amazing, we had the best lamb rump I've ever tasted.

The Awards were presented by comedian Rory Bremner who was a great host, and on entertainment duty was girl band 4th Impact of X Factor fame who got everyone out of their seats dancing along with them.

For me the highlight of the night was seeing how excited and proud everyone was of their products and too right too after all that hard work. The night ended with all the winners together on the stage to a breath taking confetti display. I was picking out confetti out of my bra all the way home.

We were lucky enough to be given the biggest goodie bag ever, of all the winning product. You can view all the winners here.

Some of my favourite products included;

Gillette Venus Snap Women's portable razor  I love the size and how 5 blades and the moisturising strip left my legs soft and silky smooth.

Bebeto Fruit Strings 7 Day Pack Advertised for kids these low sugar, high juice snacks which are also fat free, consist of various fruits adults will also love them too

Asda Little Angels Extra Protection Wipe I have to admit I'm a bit of a label snob when it comes to baby wipes. However,  these are so good, thick, soft and enriched with a skin friendly barrier lotion to protect against irritation and nappy rash.

Arla skyr I've been a fan of these since joining Slimming World. Thick, creamy, filling and low in Syns. These are also perfect if you're on SP.

Thank you for a great night "Product Of The Year". I look forward to see what innovative products win in 2017.
