Once the
weather starts turning it is easy to assume that enjoying the great outdoors
and having time within nature has to come to a stop, especially if you have
young children. However, actually, there are lots of ways to enjoy being outside
& sometimes it can be the best way to encourage your kids to burn off steam
– here are some ideas.FishingYou might
assume that packing up your carp fishing gear and heading for a day next to the
lake is a big no-no if the weather is cold, but for many people, this is one of
the best times of year to fish. Keen fishermen will know that rain can often
promote feeding within fish so it can be a great time to catch good fish.
There’s a tonne of gear you can buy to make sure that everyone stays warm and
dry. When packing your snacks for the day take some flasks of hot tea and soup
and you’ll have plenty to keep you warm from the inside during the day too!
Winter WalksThis time
of year is especially a great time for getting out and about and enjoying a
walk. The scenery is changing with the season and that can make it such a
lovely time to be able to see the world. Of course, you can pick and choose
your days and you might want to avoid days when the weather is heavy but
wrapping up warm and going on a snow-filled walk can be a really lovely idea.
Choose when you’re going in terms of what the ground is like and there is
absolutely nothing wrong with putting on your wellies and your big coats and
going outside for a family walk. Christmas
EventsWe’re
coming up to the holiday season and there is all manner of events happening
outside that you and your family can take part in. Carol singing, Christmas
light switch ones, Christmas markets and much more are all ways to get into the
Christmas spirit as well as encourage the whole family to get outside and
enjoy the fresh air. This time
of year might take a little more preparation than just leaving the house like
you would in summer but that doesn’t mean you can’t all have a good time. Just
consider what to take with you and how you can keep everyone warm and dry. Most
of the time a decent winter coat and some
waterproof shoes are enough, but you know your family and you know what they’ll
need. Just don’t
let the cold weather off of enjoying the hobbies and activities that you all love –
most of them can carry on in the winter with no problem at all. You just might want
to put the slow cooker on before you leave so you have something tasty and
delicious to come back to later in the day.If you
have any ideas for summer activities you can do in winter I would love to hear
them.
