Having your child think in lots of different ways helps them take a step back and think about a planned response. It might not be the right answer, but they should be trying to have a go at least. The more your child does this the more opportunities they have to think for themselves and develop their way of thinking.

Having your child a good chance to think for themselves and develop their own opinion is a great way of helping them along their journey. If a child is given all the options for them it can become predictable and less pressure for them to deliver. Solving problems requires a lot of time thinking and coming up with the right answer. For children at a young age this can feel overwhelming, but it’s good to help your child along with this. Play board games that require problems to be solved within the game; ask what your child should do if they make a mess on the table; help them to solve problems that will make them better workers and thinkers.
